Installation
The meter installs in three steps: the Npcap driver, the installer and your login. The meter itself needs no administrator rights. The steps are on the download page. Download the Windows client
Windows 10 or 11. Works with the global release of AION 2; Korea and Taiwan run a few versions ahead, so skill recognition may be incomplete there.
How we measure
The meter counts what actually reached the target. The iDPS is the damage one player dealt to one target, divided by the time, and the group iDPS is the same for the whole group. Nothing is modelled and nothing is redistributed between players.
Fight time matters as much as the damage numbers. If a 10 % buff makes a boss fall faster, the kill time and the group iDPS show it. That is why our boss pages list the fastest clears next to the strongest groups.
The trade-off: the numbers do not say who set the buff. A support player can look weak in the iDPS list although the group was faster because of them. The kill time of the group shows their value, the single iDPS does not.

LagoFast is a game booster that ships a DPS tracker inside its own app. It is the only option here that also optimizes your connection to the game. Our network overlay measures ping, jitter and packet loss but changes nothing.
Why we have no rDPS: rDPS estimates how much of a player's damage comes from other players' buffs and moves that share to whoever set the buff. It rests on modelling assumptions (how buffs stack, how strong they are, whether the damage was useful) and not on measured numbers. We show measured damage and fight time instead.
Also worth knowing: since the patch of 1 April 2026 the game has a combat analysis of its own, which shows only your own damage and needs no extra program. AION2 Hub offers a web-based combat analytics page. Several more open-source projects exist (for example Eclipse, Wingbeat and Aion2-QoL, and forks of the projects above) that we did not compare one by one.
Where we are weaker
- Several projects have far more GitHub stars than we do. We are young and little known.
- Korea and Taiwan are only partly supported: those servers run a few versions ahead, so skill recognition is incomplete there. Other meters cover them fully.
- Windows only. There is no Linux or Proton version.
- The Npcap driver has to be installed separately. One other meter bundles its own driver.
- We have no rDPS, no live PvP view, no character scorer and no connection optimization like LagoFast's.
- The leaderboards only cover bosses that players uploaded fights for, and the group of uploaders is small next to the large meters. Many bosses have no data yet.
- Parts of the feature set are still in development, for example the Assist window, and its cooldown times are estimated.
Where we are stronger
- The combat analyzer with deaths, replay and a plausibility check of the boss damage against the hit points it really lost.
- Map, pets, gathering spots, event timetable, world boss timers, a crafting calculator and a daily checklist in the same program.
- Boss leaderboards and character profiles on aiondps.com with optional upload.
- Automatic updates without admin rights, and an OBS browser source.
- A design editor, voice announcements for boss casts and ten interface languages.
Why open source matters for a damage meter
- You can check it yourself. A meter sees your network traffic. With open source anyone can read what it does and what it sends. Here that is nothing to the game, and uploads are off by default.
- No lock-in. If a project stops, the code stays. Anyone can fork it or fix it after a game patch.
- No paywalled basics. Free software has no tier that hides your own group's numbers.
- Fixes in public. Bugs and new skills can be reported and fixed openly, and every release is documented in the changelog.
- Licenses differ. The MIT license of this meter allows any use, including closed forks. The GPL projects require derived work to stay open. Both are open source.
Questions
Is it also an AION 2 combat tracker?
Yes. It records every fight with the skills used, damage, healing, deaths and a replay, so you can review a fight afterwards.
Which AION 2 DPS meter should I choose?
That depends on what you need. Use the tables: your region (some meters cover Korea and Taiwan fully, ours only partly), your platform (Windows or Linux), the extras you want (map, timers, leaderboards, rotation view, rDPS) and whether you want the source code to be open. Whatever you pick, check what it does with your data.
Why does the meter not show rDPS?
rDPS estimates how much of a player's damage comes from other players' buffs and moves that share to whoever set the buff. That rests on modelling assumptions, not on measured numbers. We show the iDPS per target and the fight time instead, which show the effect of a buff on the group without estimating anything.
